◇ BTS online concert, a boom…lines after lines waiting for the concert under “Living with COVID-19” 

As soon as the Korean government released a road map for “Living with COVID-19” measures to restore our daily lives back to before the pandemic by rearranging quarantine levels, K-POP artists have been hastily brining out their long-postponed concert schedules.

BTS has planned 4 times of offline concert, “BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE PLAY in LA” from November 27th to 28th and December 1st to 2nd in Los Angeles.


Earlier the super band has held “BTS PERMSION TO DANCE ON STAGE” online without any onsite audiences at Jamsil Arena in Seoul on the 24th. This was their first online concert in about 1 year.

Fans in 197 countries watched the concert and foreign presses such as the U.K. daily “The Guardian” and the U.S. “Teen Vogue” paid high attention to the news.

Hip-hop group Epik High will hold their 2-year-awaited concert “Epik High Is Here” at the Olympic Hall of the Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul between the 17th and 19th of December. Singer-songwriter Jukjae has prepared his first offline country tour concert since debut starting from Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul between the 19th and 21st of November.

Kang Seung-yoon and Song Min-ho of WINNER will each hold a solo concert at the Olympic Hall in Bangi-dong, Seoul on the 19th and the 21st of November, respectively.

◇ The starter of K-Dance syndrome, “Street Woman Fighter” finishes with final winner as HolyBang

Mnet’s street dance survival program, “Street Woman Fighter,” which received immense love from the start in August, has closed its chapter with HolyBang voted for the final winning crew.

“The Korean dancers have already been ready-set for this moment since long ago. We hope for a lot of progress from the dance scene and for more love towards the dancers who just love dancing,” said Honey J, the leader of HolyBang.

“Street Woman Fighter” is said to have become an opportunity to bring out the dancers from the stage sides, to recognize them as an artist and to discover the new stars with talents.

People were crazy for the dancers’ fresh performances and the crews gained popularity of an idol star with the number of their social media followers jumping up 5~10 times.

As much as the popularity, there were controversies as well. Hyeily of PROWDMON and Lee Su of WAYB were suspected of having bullied their peers in schools. Rozalin of WANT was rumored to have received tutoring fee but did not properly teach the student.

The 8 crews of the program will meet the fans offline through “Street Woman Fighter [ON THE STAGE].”

◇ Youn Yuh-jung


The first Korean Oscar-winning actress Youn Yuh-jung with the U.S. immigration film “Minari” was awarded the highest national cultural medal for her contributions to the promotion of the Korean film industry.

The second-highest Eungwan medal was given to singer-songwriter and late film producer Lee Choo-yun.

The third Bogwan honor was given to three artists including veteran actor Park In-hwan.

◇ Secret Number Jeon So-mi Park Ji-hoon EPEX... K-POP scene heated up with continual come-backs of idol stars

Secret Number who debuted as a 5-piece but rearranged into a 6-piece successfully returned to the music scene with a retro-style 3rd single, “Fire Saturday” on the 27th.

The band’s original member Denise left the team and instead, Zuu and Minji newly joined them. Their music video surpassed a million-view in 6 hours of release.

Especially, in member Dita’s home country, Indonesia, they soon ranked No. 1 on iTunes Song Chart. Rapper Jessi having taken part in writing the lyrics for the song became an issue as well.

Jeon So-mi released her first regular album “XOXO” on the 29th, which is in 2 years of her solo debut. The artist, who gained immense popularity with her previous solo song “DUMB DUMB,” revealed, “The upcoming album is like a “completed” version of me. I poured everything in preparing the production, so I feel more relieved and light.”

In the music video, Jeon is a little devil bullying her ex-boyfriend.

Park Ji-hoon, former member of project boy-group Wanna One, solo-debuted in 2019 and recently released a new mini-album “HOT & COLD” on the 28th. He showcased the album on the same day.

Its title song, “Serious” is a hip hop based dance song with a repetitive chorus. The singer sought a change in his music style by trying shouting-rap and showed excellent acting in the music video.

Rookie boy-group EPEX, who entered the music industry in June this year, came back on stage with their 2nd EP “Bipolar Pt.2: Prelude of Love" on the 26th.
