SEOUL, July 4 (Yonhap) -- "Top Gun : Maverick" topped South Korea's Box office for 2 weekends in a row.

According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Monday, “Top Gun: Maverick” secured its position after attracting total of 1.145 million viewers, 59.2 percent of the total sales within the movie tickets sold throughout the weekend. So far more than 3.329 million people have seen Top Gun : Maverick.

Director Park Chan-wook’s latest movie “Decision to leave” took the second place in South Korea's Box office attracting total of 320 thousand viewers, 15.6 percent of the total sales within the movie tickets sold throughout the weekend on its first weekend of premier.

Compare to the last week, both “The Witch: Part 2 The Other One” and “Round Up” took a step down from South Korea's Box office placing 3rd and 4th on the list.

“Round Up” drew additional 200 thousand viewers during the weekend, dragging the total number of viewers up to nearly 12.416 million. “Round Up” surpassed “Masquerade” which was released back in 2012’s record of total viewers and took 14th place among most watched South Korean movies.

“Come on Come on” starring Joaquin Phoenix ranked 10th on the first weekend attracting only about 4 thousand viewers.
