SEOUL, April 14 (Yonhap) -- Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival, a representative festival of Nonsan city in south Chungcheong province, will be held online for the first time in four years.

Nonsan city announced on the 14th that they will hold the festival around Ganggyeong Traditional Salted Fish Market from October 12th to 16th.

The theme of the festival, Jeotgal (pickled fish), is a fermented food salted with the flesh or eggs of shellfish or fish.

The promotion committee of Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival decided to hold the festival combining online and offline forms, judging that daily recovery from COVID-19 will be possible in October.

In 2019, the festival was cancelled due to the prevention of African Swine Fever, and in the last two years, it was held online due to COVID-19.

Na Gyeong-pil, the promotion committee of Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival said, "We will show various events and entertainments, combining the advantage of original offline festival with the experience of holding online festival for the past two years."
