SEOUL, Oct. 5 (Yonhap) -- Han So-hee who has been widely loved by series watchers as a dangerously attractive woman in affair with a married man in “The World of the Married” and a college girl walking on edges of a dangerous love in “Nevertheless”, will go for a noir this time.

Netflix announced Tuesday that they will release a new Korean original series “My Name” on the 15th starring the actress.

Whether the streaming platform will succeed in continuing its global streak with the upcoming series after recently released Korean series “Squid Game” is the main issue.

“My Name” portrays Ji-woo’s avenge for her father’s death. To complete her bloody goal, she joins a gang and sneaks into the police as an undercover with a new name. There she meets a hard truth.

“From the script, I could see her desperate steps towards her only goal, revenge. The first thought that came into my mind was that I wanted to try this genre of expressing emotions through body. I have shown emotions through words and faces but have never done it through my body. As the genre was novel to me, I enjoyed reading the script,” said Han So-hee (26), who took the role of Ji-woo, on an online conference Tuesday.

Ji-woo changes her identity to Oh Hye-jin as she becomes an ‘undercover.’ The two characters are quite

the opposite making it almost a double role for the actress.

“’My Name’’s action is about ‘life.’ There are many action scenes that really risk ‘live’s,” said Han who went through intense actions.

“I am most confident with actions using batons,” added the actress.

“Noirs in the previous gave us the impression of dryness and cold atmosphere, but this series’ main character is a female, and the plot protrays the impressive mixed feelings and heated up atmosphere. ‘My Name’ is not a cold noir but a hot-bloody noir,” highlighted Park Hee-soon (51) who played as Moo-jin, the boss of Korea’s biggest drug gang Dongcheon.

Kim Jin-min PD of “Time Between Dog and Wolf,” “God of War” and “Extracurricular” has directed the production and Kim Ba-da, screenwriter of “Hero” and “Family” have written the scripts.

“A lot of limits of an actor are from his or her appearance. When I met Han, I asked her about all the possibilities and limits, but she did not hesitate for a second to say that she is willing to take the role. She said that there will be plenty of opportunities for a beautiful role but not many for a role she can throw her body for. And she really tried her best,” praised Kim PD, who succeeded in harboring positive comments through “Extracurricular” in collaboration with Netflix.
