SEOUL September 23 (Yonhap) -- Cultural Festival encompassing, K-pop, webtoon, temple food, Korean traditional music, Korean traditional clothes hanbok and more in the capital city of Thailand Bangkok.
Korean Culture Center located in Thailand and Korean Culture and Information Service is collaborating on a celebratory event ”Korean Culture Scene” on behalf of 10 year anniversary of their partnership starting on September 24, up until October 15.
On September 24, Webtoon about K-pop idol star and Korean War veterans will be released to public.
Starting on September 29, K-pop dance cover festival, Asia Model Festival, Global Hnbok model competition and more will take place at Bangkok’s Future Park Rangsit mall.
Continuing on, throughout the Global Hanbok model competition planed on October they will pick out 10 of the Korean War veterans and award them with Hanbok, and give out scholarships to their descendant. Also for the award winners of the competition, they will be awarded with not only the prize money but also opportunity to visit South Korea.
On the same day at the same spot “Thailand and Korea: Discover and enjoy Korea” hosted by Korean culture center in Thailand and the ministry of culture in Thailand will take place in three years.
Mixture of Korean and Thai members, idol group Seven Stars will take the stage along with Jeong Ga Ak Hoe’s traditional music performance, and Bboy MB crew and Base us crew will perform their act throughout the festival.
Monk Jung-gwan will visit Thailand’s Wat Arun, also known as the temple of dawn and offer the South Korean temple food to 110 of the Thai monks along with Korean ambassador Moon Seung-hyun stationed in Thailand, on September 3.
Monk Jung-gwang from Baegyangsa Temple and the owner of Chun Jin hermitage is known for his appearance in Netflix Documentary series “Chef’s Table” and more as a master of temple food.
Temple food experience exhibition happening on October 4 at 6 p.m. at Royal Thai, Navy Convention Hall and there will be a drone show alongside Chao Phraya River.
Starting with the flags of South Korea and Thailand, Tiger and Elephant which symbolizes both nation will be drawn throughout the sky with drones to the beat of K-pop super star BTS’ “Permission to Dance.”
Throughout the festival, screening event of South Korean block buster “Hansan: rising dragon,” Taekwondo competition and more will take place until October 15.
