Seoul, August 18 (Yonhap) --The "Moonlight Tour at Changdeokgung Palace," an experiential event that allows one to look around the grounds of Changdeokgung Palace under the quiet moonlight, will be held next month.
The Cultural Heritage Administration Royal Palaces and Tombs Center, along with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced on Thursday that the "Moonlight Tour at Changdeokgung Palace" will be held every Thursday to Sunday from September 1 to October 28.
The "Moonlight Tour at Changdeokgung Palace," which is on its 13th year, is popular as one can enjoy the quiet atmosphere of Changdeokgung Palace.
Starting from the second half of the year, the number of participants per day will be increased from 100 to 150 so that more spectators will be able to participate. With 25 people per group, 2 groups will be entering every 5 minutes.
With the Huijeongdang Hall of Changdeokgung Palace being included in the moonlight tour for the first time this year, there will be more things to see.
Huijeongdang Hall of Changdeokgung Palace, a nationally designated cultural treasure, was a building used as the King's office. In the second half of this year, the outside entrance will be opened and will have modern lighting installed, which will show off a different atmosphere.
Additionally, one will be able to enjoy the night view of the city center while listening to the sound of daeguem at Sangnyangjeong in the rear garden of Nakseonjae Hall, and also enjoy the performance on the theme of Crown Prince Hyomyeong at Yeongyeongdang Hall of Changdeokgung Palace. It also goes through the areas of Buyongjeong Pavilion and Juhamnu Pavilion.
Reservations for the September schedule are on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be purchased at Interpark Ticket from August 22.
In October, a lottery will be held for applicants. To improve the inconvenience where families were not able to experience it together, one will be able to choose between a general ticket (2 tickets per person) or a family ticket (4 tickets per person) to apply.
Admission is 3,000 won per person. People who are 65 years of age or older, the disabled, or people of national merit will be able to reserve tickets over the phone.
