SEOUL September 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor So Ji-sub is trying out a thriller movie for the first time.

“I was so focused and drawn in to the scrip I could not let go of it until the end.” adding “I was drawn deeper as I flipped through the pages.” described actor So Ji-sub during the press conference of the upcoming movie “Confession” held at Lotte cinema next to Kunkook University in Seoul on Tuesday.

South Korean thriller movie, Confession, which will premiere on October 26, is about a protagonist who has been pointed out as a suspect of the recent murder happened in a locked room and his lawyer with 100 percent win rate, piecing together the crime.

So Ju-sub acts out the protagonist Yoo Min-ho a CEO of an IT company and the only suspect of the murder. Throughout the press conference he stated “I tried my best to act out a person who is extremely desperate to prove himself of his innocence.” adding “Since I was so focused on acting out a sensitive character, I had continuous nightmares until the last day of filming.

Queen of the South Korean thriller movie, Kim Yun-jin acts out the lawyer Yang Shin-ae, who takes the murder case which has no evidence, nor whiteness. Throughout the press conference actress Kim Yun-jin described the movie “Confession” to be similar to an expert level of escape room.

“The script was very addictive; it had continuous twists throughout the movie. The movie starts off with a murder at a secluded room and one by one the puzzle pieces fit in with one another creating a bigger picture and the thrill it provides when a full picture is reviled is amazing.” actress Kim You-jin stated throughout the press conference."

Moreover, the actress looked back and stated that she kept on thinking about how to act out her character throughout the movie “Confession.” “The more you act, harder it gets, I guess the 10 thousand hour theory has no effect on me. Just because you have been acting for a longer period of time doesn’t necessary mean you are good at acting. The script was addicting and very fun to read therefore I practiced a lot to make sure I act out the right character.”

“Confession” which takes place in a fixed environment will showcase an opposing composition between two actors. “If done poorly having a fixed environment with limited to miniscule amount of characters within the movie, can lead the audience to feel constraint and boring. Looking back at the first rehearsal day actor So Ji-sub chuckled and stated “I was very surprised by the actress Kim Yun-jin because she had her script which is about two hours worth of acting all memorized and ready to go therefore I felt like if I didn’t come prepared I would be overwhelmed by her preparedness.“

“Physically there aren’t many things you can do at a constraint environment like a small secret room. Therefore I focused greater into the details of the script and acting. It wasn’t easy but it was very fun and because actor So Ji-sub passed his acting with mine very well, it was easier for me to film.” stated actress Kim Yun-jin throughout the press conference held for the upcoming movie “Confession.”

South Korean block buster “Confession” is a remake version of the Spanish film by the director Oriol Paulo which premiered in 2016. “Although the overall story line and the characters stayed the same, I tried to show more details which was not depicted in the original movie.” adding “I also tweaked a little in the end.” described director Yoon Jong-seok throughout the interview during the press conference held for the movie “Confession.”

“With the thought of If I was the protagonist and if I was the one facing this entire situation, what would I have done, in mind throughout the movie, I think everyone will have a lot of fun throughout the movie.
