SEOUL October 25 (Yonhap) -- Fifteenth of its kind “Hungary Korean Film Festival” successfully attracted over five thousand audiences throughout the festival, addressed Korean Culture Center located in Hungary, on Tuesday.
“Hungary Korean Film Festival” which took place in both Corvin Mozi, and Apollo Mozi in Budapest Hungary from October 14 until 21, featured “Decision to Leave” as the opening movie and total of 38 various South Korean movies including “The Roundup” and more has been screened throughout the festival. 91.7 percent of the audiences paid for their admission.
Out of 38 movies featured throughout the festival, tickets for 7 of the movies including “Hunt” and “The Roundup” has been sold out.
“Escape From Mogadishu” by director Ryoo Seung-wan was awarded with the popularity award by getting 9.3 average rating from the audience throughout the festival.
OST,K-pop street performance and opportunity to chat with directors attracted a lot of audiences. K-pop performance held at the Corvin Plaza which is considered as one of the most urban places within the area fans sang along to K-pop superstar BTS’ “Spring Day” and had a lot of fun throughout the performance.
Director Byun Young-joo talked about the behind stories from the production of her movie “Helpless” from 2012. Especially film critic and professor of ELTE University, Terez Vincze participated as a panel which drew a lot of attention.
