Percussionist Hyeji Bak to hold recital

SEOUL, Nov. 11 (Yonhap) -- Percussionist Hyeji Bak will hold a recital at the Recital Hall in the Seoul Art Center at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 19.


Hyeji Bak is the first Korean winner of the first prize of the percussion section in the 2019 Geneva International Music Competition and has swept six Special Prizes for the first time in all the history of the Geneva International Music Competition.

Also, her performance of Péter Eötvös’ “Speaking Drum” with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea in April was highly praised.

The renowned artist will play various works such as “Ferility Rites” by Hatzis, “Suite for Solo Cello No. 5” by Bach, “Silence Must Be” by Mey, “Rebonds B” by Xenakis, “Interzones” by Hamilton, “Temazcal” by Alvearex and “Marimba Spiritual” by Minoru.
