SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) -- Girl group EVERGLOW’s Chinese member Yiren will halt her activities in Korea and return to her family in China till next month.

Yue Hua Entertainment announced a notice in the group’s official fan cafe and said, “Yiren will return to China starting from mid-January to the end of February due to her studies.”

"Yiren will be taking a break with her family who she has not met for some time due to the COVID-19," announced the agency.

“The group will continue their activities with 5 members and proceed with their schedules as they planned,” said the entertainment.

EVERGLOW is a 6-piece girl band consisting of Korean members Sihyeon, E:U, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and a Chinese member Yiren.

In a recent fan meeting, EVERGLOW’s members bowed to their fans to celebrate New Year. However, Yiren was involved in a controversy when she was the only one who put her hands together and didn’t bow in the traditional Korean greeting style.
