SEOUL, May 9 (Yonhap) -- A famous temple along the coast of Busan has complained of damage caused by a roaring jet ski.
Recently, as the weather gets warmer, jet skis that roam around the temple appear once or twice a day, according to the Haedong Yonggung Temple, Monday.
Lately, more than 10 jet skis appeared at the same time and roared and ran away after being reported.
The sound is not the only damage caused by the jet skis.
Monk Yeon-gyu, the chief monk of Haedong Yonggung Temple, said, "The jet ski approaches the land, pushes the woman riding in the motorcycle, and continues to ride around while playing the music loudly," and called them "sea bikers.”
Tourists who come in families are not fond of this situation.
Haedong Yonggung Temple, which is a famous tourist temple, became the branch temple of Hwaeomsa Temple, the headquarters of the 19th Parish of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order last year, strengthening its practices, prayers, and pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
The temple explained that jet skis are also causing damage during Buddhist rituals and Buddhist events.
Until now, the Coast Guard has been dispatched after receiving several reports, but the jet ski had already disappeared.
The Coast Guard plans to strengthen patrols to prevent damage to the temple.
