SEOUL, June 10 (Yonhap) -- With SUGA set to compelete his mandatory military service mid-June, all seven members of BTS will have finished their military duties and return as a complete group.
On Tuesday morning, RM and V were discharged from the Army after completing their full term, and the following day, Jimin and Jungkook will also conclude their service. SUGA, who has been serving as a social service agent, is scheduled to be officially discharged on June 21.
With four members now approaching their discharge, attention is turning to BTS's future activities.
Previously discharged members Jin and j-hope have recently achieved high rankings on the U.S. Billboard album charts through solo projects and successfully completed world tours.
The release of BTS’s new album is expected as early as the second half of this year or sometime next year, depending on the progress of music production and the album’s overall quality -- or even sooner, considering RM's latest comments during his discharge greeting: “I want to make an album and return to the stage quickly.”
At the same time, V echoed: “Just wait a little more, and we’ll return with an amazing performance.”
According to industry sources, a 2026 world tour is highly anticipated, especially as global demand for a full BTS tour has been building for three years. If so, the tour would mark their first full concert tour since “Permission to Dance On Stage” in 2021–2022.
Meanwhile, the group's agency has prepared a grand comeback celebration to thank fans who have waited for so long.
On June 13 and 14, a 12th anniversary debut event will be held in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, featuring large-scale photo spots, a trophy zone reflecting on BTS’s achievements, and various exhibits and interactive spaces.
However, the agency remained cautious about revealing detailed plans for upcoming activities. Industry insiders expect that BTS will likely embark on a full-group world tour in 2026.
Anticipation for BTS’s return has also been reflected in the stock market. On Tuesday, HYBE’s stock hit a new 52-week high, trading at 310,000 KRW around 10:30 a.m., and closing at 309,000 KRW, up 2.32 percent from the previous day.
As BTS makes a bold and triumphant return, we look forward to their brilliant journey — both together and individually.
