BUSAN, Mar. 29 (Yonhap) -- The Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency announced on Tuesday that it will hold a global indie game festival "Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022(BIC Festival 2022)” for 4 days from Sep. 1 to 4.

The "BIC Festival 2022" marks its 8th anniversary this year.

It will be held at Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center, and will recreate the passionate site of an indie game festival that was held before the COVID-19 outbreak.

The festival held this year will show off more diverse events, such as providing a Connect Pick, which selects and exhibits the indie games that the public wants to play again.

The winner of Connect Pick is decided by vote among the works that have been exhibited in the previous BIC festivals or launched for more than a year.

It will also recruit the second team of Big Connectors, which was formed for the first time last year.

The first group of Big Connectors, which consists of gamers who are big fans of BIC and indie game, showed great performances by promoting indie games through various activities, such as indie game marketers, beta testers, and connectors, in 2021.

The schedules for exhibition reception and inspection have also been confirmed.

The reception for general sector will be held from Apr. 25 to May 25, and the rookie category (student competition) will be held from May 16 to June 20.

The final works for the exhibition will be announced at the end of July after a screening process by a subcommittee composed of game experts.
