SEOUL, April 23 (Yonhap) -- Hybe has officially introduced its next-generation Japanese boy band "aoen," a seven-member J-pop group formed under its sub-label YX Labels, the company announced Wednesay.

The lineup includes members Yuuju, Luka, Haku, Sota, Kyosuke, Gaku, and Leo.

According to YX Labels, the group’s name aoen is inspired by the color of the most intensely burning flame — blue — symbolizing their fierce passion and energy.

The final members were selected through the Nihon TV audition program Ouen-High: Dream Start Line, which aired over two months beginning in February. Yuuju, Luka, Haku, Sota, and Kyosuke secured spots during the show’s final performance, while Gaku and Leo were added through a post-broadcast viewer vote that garnered over 500,000 ballots.

Leo topped the vote with more than 210,000 votes. Gaku, who previously appeared on the audition show that launched Hybe Japan’s boy group &TEAM, also earned his place through public support.

“I want to become an artist loved by many, and I’ll always stay grateful,” said Gaku. Leo added, “I’ll work hard to show you the best of me as a member of aoen.”

The group’s official fan club name has been set as “aoring.” With the team’s launch, aoen’s official website and Weverse fan community have also opened.

YX Labels said, “We hope for your continued support and anticipation for aoen as they grow into the next-generation leaders of J-pop.”
