SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group aespa's latest single, "Supernova," has climbed to the top of major domestic music charts, including Melon's 'Top 100.'
According to SM Entertainment on the 20th, "Supernova," released on the 13th, secured the number one spot on various charts such as Melon, FLO, Genie, and Bugs. Additionally, the song has amassed over 14 million streams on the global music platform Spotify.
"Supernova" is one of the double title tracks from aespa's first full-length album, "Armageddon," set to be released on the 27th. The song is a dance track characterized by its heavy kick and bass, with a minimalistic track sound, likening the onset of an internal explosion to a supernova.
On the album's release date, aespa will also unveil the other title track, "Armageddon," continuing their momentum. "Armageddon" features a powerful synth bass sound and delivers a self-empowering message through its lyrics, emphasizing that only oneself can define their identity.
In celebration of the album release, SM Entertainment will operate a pop-up store titled "aespa WEEK - Armageddon: The Mystery Circle" from the 28th of this month to June 9th at 121 Wangsimni-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The store will offer fans an immersive experience into aespa's multiverse concept, featuring a mirror zone that expresses the chaos of multiple existences.
The pop-up store will also include a four-cut photo booth and photo ticket kiosks featuring frames of the members, providing a variety of interactive content. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in the "Armageddon" challenge in a designated shooting zone and purchase merchandise inspired by the album artwork.
