SEOUL September 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korean webtoon “MOONYOU” will be showcased through a movie screen.

CJ 4DP which is a subsidiary of CJ CGV, announced on Wednesday that they will be showcasing the “4DX MOONYOU” on October 12.

“4DX MOONYOU” is a screen version of writer Cho Seok’s popular webtoon “MOONYOU.” Despite of the movie format it will feature word bubbles and the drawing style of the webtoon.

It will also feature unique motions such as swiping and scrolling which one uses frequently while reading a webtoon. Additionally, 4DX technology will deliver scent, wind, water splashes and more through motion chair so that viewers can have more physical experience throughout the movie, stated CJ 4DPLEX.

Voice actor Shin Yong-woo, Ahn Jang-hyuk, Kim Young-sun and voice actress Lee seul will be acting out the characters throughout the screen version of “MOONYOU.”

Yoon Hyun-jung, the leader of content marketing division, stated “While putting the emphasis on the 4DX effects, we have tried our best to save the originality of the webtoon” adding “4DX ‘MOONYOU will provide” adding “This unique content will deliver protagonists feelings directly to the audience through the technology of 4DX.”

“MOONYOU” is a black comedy webtoon about an astronaut who is stranded in the moon who eventually become the lone survivor after the earth faces judgment day. The series continued on from June of 2016 until September of 2017 in Naver Webtoon. Also the movie version of writer Cho Seok’s “MOOYOO” premiered in China under the title “Moon Man” and the movie successfully ranked second on Chinese box office in July.
