SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Yonhap) -- The popular Netflix series Hellbound, which garnered 110 million viewing hours within just ten days of its release, is returning with Season 2. Netflix announced on the 20th that the second season of Hellbound will be released on October 25.

 

Hellbound tells the story of supernatural events where people are sentenced to hell by mysterious beings. Season 2 will focus on the resurrection of Park Jung-ja (played by Kim Shin-rok) and Jung Jin-soo (previously played by Yoo Ah-in), who were both previously condemned to hell. 

 

Kim Sung-cheol takes over the role of Jung Jin-soo, the founder of the New Truth Society, who hides his own sentence to hell, replacing Yoo Ah-in, who is currently facing trial for drug-related charges.

 

Returning cast members include Kim Hyun-joo, Kim Shin-rok, and Lee Dong-hee, with new additions such as Yang Dong-geun and Moon Geun-young. 

 

Director Yeon Sang-ho, who is also responsible for writing and directing the series, expressed his excitement, stating, "I'm thrilled, nervous, and full of anticipation to meet the audience again after three years. If you enjoyed Season 1, this will be a work filled with intriguing questions."
