D Museum holds exhibition inspired by Korean romance comics

SEOUL, Mar. 16 (Yonhap) -- D Museum, which relocated in Seoul Forest last year, opened its exhibition "Romantic Days,” featuring Korean romance comics, on Mar. 16.

The exhibition introduces about 300 works of art in various genres, including photos, videos, illustrations, and installations of 23 artists at home and abroad, which are inspired by 7 famous Korean cartoons.

The romance comics of inspiration are Chon Kye-young’s “Unplugged Boy,” Lee Eun-hye’s “Blue,” Lee Bin’s “Crazy Love Story,” Lee Mi-ra’s “For the Mermaid Princess,” Won Soo-yeon’s “Full House,” Park Eun-ah’s “Sweet and Sensitive,” and Shin Il-sook’s “Four Daughters of Armian.”

In the exhibition, sensual works of contemporary artists are displayed, starting with each romance comic.

When entering the first section named "The time when I was clumsy and shy without knowing it was love," Hyun-kyum and Jee-yool, the main characters of Chon Kye-young’s “Unplugged Boy,” appear on the large screen, followed by the works of Jimmy Marble and Lukasz Wierzbowski, who captured the moment of pure love.

The exhibition will be held until Oct. 30.
