SEOUL, July 10 (Yonhap) -- HYBE’s Latin American subsidiary will unveil a reality series next month chronicling the formation of its new Latin boy group "Santos Bravos."

HYBE Latin America announced Thursday that the show, also titled "Santos Bravos," will be released in August through the group’s official social media channels. The series will document the selection and training process for the group's members in Mexico.

The project applies HYBE’s artist discovery and development system to the Latin American region and follows the creation of a new music group from the ground up.

Sixteen contestants of various nationalities, including from Mexico, Colombia, Spain, and the United States, will receive training in a customized boot camp, focusing on music and performance. Among them, five will be selected as the final debut members of "Santos Bravos."

The project is overseen by Kenny Ortega, director and choreographer of popular Disney series such as "High School Musical." Johnny Goldstein, known for working with pop star Shakira and BTS member J-Hope, will serve as the lead music producer.

HYBE Latin America is also conducting the band audition program "Pase A La Fama" in partnership with Telemundo, a Spanish-language network under NBCUniversal. The show has become popular, recording the highest ratings in its time slot for Spanish-language broadcasts and drawing 688,000 viewers.
