SEOUL, May 30 (Yonhap) – “My Liberation Notes,” which depicts the hardships of life, where people often get hurt by others, through heartbreaking lines, ended with around 6 percent in viewership.
The final episode of JTBC’s weekend drama “My Liberation Notes,” which was aired on May 29 at 10:30 p.m., recorded a viewer rating of 6.7 percent, according to a rating research company Nielson Korea on Monday.
In the final episode, Yeom Mi-jeong(Kim Ji-won), who had always lived with an empty heart, finally filled her inner side with love, while Mr. Gu(Son Suk-ku), who was afraid that his happiness would bring misfortune, put down the liquor bottle and stepped forward with lighter steps.
Yeom Chang-hee(Lee Min-ki), who had been with the people on their last days, chose to work as a funeral instructor, and Yeom Gi-jeong(Lee El) continued the relationship with Jo Tae-hoon(Lee Ki-woo) that she wanted so badly.
"My Liberation Notes" calmly depicts the process of three siblings filling up their lives little by little, which only felt empty to those living in Sanpo Village, which is quite far from Seoul.
In the beginning, there were reviews that the characters were indulged in self-pity, which spoiled the overall atmosphere of the drama, but the way they tried to move on without falling down gained more popularity as the episodes went on.
It is written by Park Hae-young of "Another Miss Oh" and "My Mister," which are considered "all time favorites" of many people, and received favorable reviews for portraying lines that both calmly and sharply point out the emotions that people feel in their daily lives.
Yeom Mi-jeong, who had never been filled up in her life, tells Mr. Gu to chuang(worship) her, saying that love is not enough, and revived with his worship. Gu also escaped from life that was like a dark tunnel through Yeom Mi-jeong.
The word “chuang,” which feels strange and awkward, became an opportunity for viewers to reflect on the meaning of love that has been common, just as it has been a motivation in life for Yeom Mi-jeong and Mr. Gu, who did not have a point of living their lives.
