SEOUL, August 15 (Yonhap) -- “I think I have given up on my urge to take the title of the lead role, instead I want to be an actor who plays variety of roles throughout various series. Lead role or not I want to be an actor with a wide spectrum of abilities.” said Go Kyung-pyo throughout the interview for the upcoming S. Korean movie “6/45.”

South Korean actor Go Kyung-pyo was discharged from the military in January of 2020 after serving as an instructor at the 23rd division of Republic of Korean Army. Also Netflix action film “Seoul Vibe” featuring Go Kyung-pyo will be released on August 26.

Go Kyung-pyo participated in an interview at a café in Jongno district on August 12 stated that “After getting discharged from the military, I started to think that acting out various characters in a diverse field is more important than getting the lead role.”

Upcoming movie “6/45” is a comedy movie about a lottery ticket which accidently flew across the military demarcation line and the aftermath of both South and North Korean soldiers. Chun Woo who accidently runs a cross a lottery ticket which ends up becoming the grand winner of the first prize but that ticket flew over the military demarcation line so he gets stuck in a situation where he needs to negotiate with North Korean soldiers in order to get the ticket back.

Chun-woo who lay diagonally flickering the TV remote is very similar to Go Kyung-pyo from three years ago during his time as a sergeant. Therefore throughout the interview Go Kyung-pyo stated “Since the movie was shot shortly after I was discharged from the military, it wasn’t hard for me to act out a soldier character. Also I didn’t have any bad memories associated with the military. Although I got enlisted later than most of my friends it was much better than what my friends have told me.”

Protagonist Chun-woo is an animal lover who goes on a sentry with a pet dog of the unit in a bulletproof helmet. The origin of Chun-Woo’s name comes from a meaning that he should be a successful person who raise over 1000 cattle. In order to act out Chun-woo Go Kyung-pyo learned how to milk the cows.

“I have never seen a bad person who loves animals. All the animal lovers are good hearted people.” adding “I wanted to give out an impression of the innocent and pure beginner in society, therefore I gained a lot of weight.” Mentioned Go Kyung-pyo during his interview at the café.

Moreover, Go Kyung-pyo continued on by stating “The innocence and purity that I wanted to encompass through protagonist Chun-woo is the amount of effort he puts in to reach his goal. I hope his greed and the concentration for the lottery ticket can be felt and seen by a lot of people. Vanished 5.7 billion won motivates and leads Chun-woo throughout the movie.”

“Half hearted laughter is unacceptable” adding “Lessons I have learned by appearing on ‘SNL Korea’ has helped me a lot throughout the filming process of ‘6/45.’” announced Go Kyung-pyo throughout his interview.

“When I was young, I didn’t like comedy, instead I wanted to act out cool roles, however, my preference has changed and I started to like audience’s laughter because as an actor it is hard to receive immediate feedback from the audience.” adding “Therefore I find comedy to be one of the hard genres but very mesmerizing at the same time.” actor Go Kyung-pyo described his perspective on comedic genre of movies throughout his interview.
