SEOUL, December 5 (Yonhap) -- Actor Kim Soo-hyun will return with screenwriter Park Ji-eun's drama after playing in her drama "You Who Came From the Stars."

 

Studio Dragon announced on Monday that it has confirmed the production of "Queen of Tears" starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won.

 

"Queen of Tears" is written by Park Ji-eun, who wrote popular dramas such as "You Who Came from the Stars," "Crash Landing on You," and "The Legend of the Blue Sea," while co-directed by Jang Young-woo of "Crash Landing on You," and Kim Hee-won of "Vincenzo" and "Little Women."

 

This drama depicts a miraculous love story where a married couple goes through their conflict, and the production company delivered that it has a heart warming story line with humor and understanding the importance of family which is one of the features of the writer.

 

Kim Soo-hyun plays Baek Hyun-woo, the pride of Yongdu-ri Village and a legal director of Queens Group. Kim Ji-won, who works with Kim Soo-hyun as a married couple, plays Hong Hae-in, a third-generation conglomerate in the Queen's Group and a haughty queen at the Queen's Department Store.

 

Shooting will begin in the first half of 2023, and drama will be released in the second half.
