'1st Jeonju International Picture book Fair' to be held in book city Jeonju

SEOUL, May 1 (Yonhap) -- Jeonju city, North Jeolla Province, announced on May 1st that the "1st Jeonju International Picture book Fair" will be held at major city libraries and local bookstores from May 3rd till May 29th. 

The event will consist of various exhibitions and performances on the theme of picture books, along with a chance to meet the artists. 

About 30 original drawings by Seizo Tashima will be on display at the Ggotsim Library, and in Geumam Library, picture book illustrator, Lee Myung-ae's coloring tools and sketch materials will be introduced.

Eight picture book authors will hold an exhibition of their works along with a book concert at Songcheon Library and Pyeonghwa Library for a month each.

At the Guemam Library, there will be an exhibition of the young artists, while at the Inhu Library, a "World Picture Book Fair" where one is able to meet picture books by world-class authors representing each country will be prepared.

Five libraries, including Ggotsim library, is holding a "Picture Book Writer's Theater" every Saturday, where the writer of the picture book will be able to give performances and lectures about their own book.
