SEOUL, Jan. 17 (Yonhap) -- Netflix Korea’s original series “Hellbound” is chosen as the Best Horror Series of 2021 by the American review website, Rotten Tomatoes.

The Korean horror series maintained a critic rating of 97% and won first place for the Best Horror Series category of the Golden Tomato Awards, announced Netflix, Monday.

“Summoned by the devilish imagination of director Yeon Sang-ho, ‘Hellbound’ leverages its terrifying concept to thoughtfully explore human fallibility,” stated the Rotten Tomatoes.

Following the Korean horror show, Paramount Plus’ “Evil: Season 2” ranked second, Apple TV Plus’ “Calls” ranked third, and Netflix’s “Midnight Mass: Limited Series” came in fourth place.

"Hellbound," a dystopian drama about people who are sentenced to hell by supernatural figures, includes actors Yoo Ah-in, Park Jung-min, and Kim Hyun-joo.

The fantasy horror series, released on Nov. 2021, ranked No.1 on Netflix's popular TV show rankings and made the top 10 for 20 days.
