SEOUL, Sept. 13 (Yonhap) -- The members of "Mr. Trot Top 6" returned to their original agency and were quick to start individual activities as their management contract with TV Chosun have come to an end.

Trot singer Jang Min-ho, known to be the oldest member, will hold his first solo concert. Jang will meet fans through his concert "Drama," which will be held at Olympic Hall within Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, from Oct. 16-17, according to the singer's agency Ho Entertainment on Monday.

Although Jang has performed as a group with the other members of "Mr. Trot Top 6," this is the first solo concert for the singer since his debut in 1997.

Following up on the member's individual activities, Lee Chan-won released a number of special merchandise for the 2022 Season's Greetings under the concept of a "first date."

"We have decided to release Lee Chan-won's official goods a little earlier this year for fans who have been waiting for a long time," Lee's agency Bliss Entertainment said.

Kim Hee-jae, who is managed by the same agency as Lee Chan-won, signed a contract with Mountain Movement and a agency in China in order to begin activities overseas.

The most youngest member of the group, Jung Dong-won, recently confirmed his appearance in Kakao's original drama, which is tentatively titled "Goosebumps" in English, and is also considering a role in another upcoming drama.

Showplay Entertainment, Jung's agency, emphasized, "We will provide our full support for Jung Dong-won to be reborn as a true artist by showing off his talents."

New Era Project, which has been entrusted with work from TV Chosun and has acted on behalf of the "Top Six" members' management agencies, will also support them for the time being.

"We have agreed with the agencies of the 'Top Six' members to maintain cooperative relationships and help with transferring duties and advice for a certain period of time," New Era Project said on Monday.

The agency then thanked Lim Young-woong, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, Jung Dong-won, Jang Min-ho, and Kim Hee-jae for their work over the years.

Lim also wrote on social media the previous day, "It feels like yesterday when I took the first step as an official trot singer and received overflowing attention, but the time to say farewell has come in an instant," adding, "I sincerely thank all the officials of TV Chosun."

"There will be lots more to show my fans in the future and it will be fun," adding, "I'm excited to make new memories with my beloved fans," Lim said.

Jung also added, "My brother-like members are precious people that will also be remembered in my heart. I will continue my close relationships with them in the future."

The members of "Mr. Trot Top Six" signed a management contract with TV Chosun shortly after the TV program "Mr. Trot" ended last year and worked together in programs such as "PPONG School" and "Romantic Call Centre" until their contract ended on Sept. 11.

The six trot singers are considered to have opened a second sensation of the trot music genre by forming a strong fandom that has been hard to find in the trot world.

The music of cover songs sung by the singers in the broadcast topped local music charts, and despite the pandemic situation, the tickets for the national tour were quickly sold out one after another, leaving a significant impact in the music industry. Now, more attention is drawn to their future individual activities as they are also able to reach tens of thousands of members for each fan cafe.
