SEOUL, May 31 (Yonhap) -- Pianist Park Jae-Hong, winner of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, will be performing with the Daegu Symphony Orchestra.
He will be playing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1 at the Daegu City Hall regular concert held at the Grand Hall of Daegu Concert House at 7:30 p.m. on June 17th.
Pianist Jae-Hong Park won the first prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition for Young Artists.He also won top prizes in numerous international competitions including Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition and Ettlingen International Competition.
The start and end of the Daegu City Hall performance will be decorated with Russian composer Mussorgsky's representative works, "Night on Bald Mountains" and "Picures at an Exhibition."
While both works are originally piano pieces by Mussorgsky, after his death, Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel rearranged it for orchestra, and is now more famous as an orchestral piece.
