SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- The Peony Flower has begun blooming on the waterside of "Okjeongho" in Imsil county, North Jeolla province on the 4th.


The red, white, and pink peony flowers that usually grow in mountainous areas are expected to be in full bloom this weekend.

While the flowers are usually cultivated for ornamental purposes as it is beautiful, the roots of these flowers are often used as medicines for pain relief, menstrual pain, anemia, and bruises.

The peony flower field, planted on a land of 7,000 square meters n Unjong-ri, Imsil county, also gained popularity through the social media as the filming site of the tvN drama, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay."

"We have completed the installation of walking mats and have maintained the trail so that tourists can comfortably move around the peony flower field as they see the beautiful peony flowers along with the scenery of the Okjeong Lake," said an official from the county.
