SEOUL January 3 (Yonhap) -- Corner Gallery located in Jongno district Seoul, is hosting an exhibition “Wine Divine” which showcases wine and artwork.
Under the slogan “Every artistic inspiration comes from wine,” art and wine harmonizes with one another filling up the space of the gallery, addressed Corner Gallery regarding their exhibition “Wine Divine.”
Throughout the exhibition, artist Jung Seo-yoon’s paintings which incorporate oriental aspect, mother of pearl and western oil painting will be exhibited along with florist Kim Da-jeong’s flowers.
Wine which will be exhibited at the gallery is known as “Wine of Pope” which is from “Chateauneuf Du Pape” which translates to “New Castle of the Pope.” The town which the wine originates from is known as the place Pope stayed during the “Avignon Papacy,” hence the nickname of “Wine of Pope.”
Pope John XXll used to stay on the northern side of Avignon as his summer vacation villa and stayed there. Later on wines produced from the general area are known as “Wine of Pope.”
