SEOUL, Jan. 8 (Yonhap) -- Girl group April’s member Lee Na-eun accepted the apology from a school violence accuser and decided to withdraw the legal complaints.

The singer’s agency, the DSP Media, shared the apology from the person who first wrote the post regarding the school violence of singer Lee, on its official homepage, Friday.

In March 2020, accuser “A,” claimed in an online community that singer Lee bullied “A” during school years. The writer released a screenshot of an SNS comment, claiming it was what Lee said to “A” at that time.

The agency explained, “We have secured sufficient evidence to prove that the post was false, and submitted it to the investigative agency. The police admitted, ‘A’ was guilty of defamation of character and submitted it to the prosecution.”

“Accuser ‘A’ has continued to express regret and has written and delivered the apology,” the agency said. “We decided to accept the apology and withdraw the complaint.”

In the apology, “A” wrote, “The things that I said were true are all false and there are no victims, including myself. Lee is not a school violence perpetrator.”

The DSP Media stated it will take strong action if a similar case happens again.

“We will show no leniency towards creating and spreading false rumors,” emphasized the company.
