SEOUL December 2 (Yonhap) -- Festival where audiences can experience and see the work of South Korean intangible Cultural Heritage property will soon, happen.
National Intangible Heritage Center and Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation addressed on Friday that they will be hosting special events in Seoul, Gyeonggi, North Gyeongsang Province, Gwangju and more of the major cities in total of six cities where the title holders of South Korean Intangible Cultural Heritage properties will take the stage to demonstrate their unique talents.
On December 9 until December 11 audiences will be provided with Gwangju Chilseok Gossaum Nori (Loop Fight of Gwangju).
Gwangju Chilseok Gossaum Nori started off from the ritual where they wish for a safety and happiness of the town and successful harvest during the fall.
Oftentimes the Gwangju Chilseok Gossaum Nori took place right before and after of January 15 where tows people are split into two teams and fight using the “Go” tall loop-shaped structure made of twisted straw rope that two opposing teams of male push against each other.
Official from National Intangible Heritage Center addressed “The scenery of two Go bumping into one another up in the sky will trigger audiences interest and fun.”
Moreover various programs planned out by the inheritors of South Korean Intangible Cultural Heritage properties will also be showcased throughout the event.
Gwacheon citizen’s hall main theater will feature event where tricksters will tie the rope high up on the sky and showcase tricks while telling interesting stories.
On December 28 and 29 Kim Jung-su who has inherited the Salpurichum also known as the Exorcism Dance will perform a set despite of the old age inheritor will show the classiness and gentle moves which showcase the beauty Korean traditional dance incorporates.
