SEOUL, Sept. 14 (Yonhap) -- Stray Kids thrilled an audience of 100,000 with an energetic performance at Brazil's "Rock in Rio," one of the world's largest music festivals, its agency JYP Entertainment said Monday.

 

Stray Kids took the stage as a headliner at the festival, held on Friday (local time) at Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro.

 

The group was the first K-pop act to headline the festival, which has featured prominent musicians including Calvin Harris, the Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5 and Elton John.

 

JYP Entertainment said Rock in Rio demonstrated the group's influence by allowing light sticks into the festival grounds for the first time since the event's inaugural edition in 1985, in consideration of K-pop fan culture.

 

Stray Kids performed a string of hit songs, including "TOPLINE," "S-Class," "God's Menu," "Chk Chk Boom," "Rock" and "This & That."

 

Stray Kids will continue the global momentum with "STRAYCITY," a new music festival named after the group. The festival debuted in Bogota, Colombia, on Sept. 9 and will continue in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Sept. 14-15 and Mexico City on Sept. 25-26.
