SEOUL, June 18 (Yonhap) -- Stella of girl group Hearts2Hearts donated 30 million won (US$21,800) to Samsung Medical Center on her birthday Thursday, her agency SM Entertainment said.
The donation will be used to cover treatment costs for children from financially disadvantaged families.
"I wanted to share the love I received from fans in a meaningful way," Stella said. "I hope it can provide even a small source of strength to children going through difficult times."
"I would like to continue making donations so that I can pass on the warm support and encouragement I have received from fans to even more people," she added.
In February, Hearts2Hearts donated 50 million won to international development cooperation NGO G Foundation under the name of its fan club, Hachuu, to support underprivileged teenage girls in South Korea in celebration of the group's first debut anniversary.
The group is set to return on June 22 with its second mini-album, "Lemon Tang."
The title track of the same name is an upbeat and lively dance-pop song carrying the playful message that one may be sour and sharp like a lemon when alone, but becomes sweet and tangy when together with a loved one.
