SEOUL, Oct. 5 (Yonhap) -- Genie Music announced on Thursday that they will release first audio drama "Welcome to Hunam-dong Bookstore," co-produced by Genie and E-book platform Millie.

"Welcome to Hunam-dong" is about owner of bookstore at modest neighborhood sharing concerns and sympathizing with customers.

Actors Oh Yeon-seo and Lee Soo-hyuk each played owner and regular customer. Drama is composed of 15 ten-min episodes and can be watched at Genie Music and Millie.

After original novel of the same name was released as original E-book on Millie and got good word of mouth, It was published as paper book.

19 casts including the main actors appear in the drama. AI voice system was implemented to eight roles.

The drama implemented a system in which once the actor records his voice, which will be used as an example, sentences he did not record can still be created using AI technology.

Singer Yoon Do-hyeon appeared as speical guest and played one out of eight AI voices.

KT Group plans to expand production of audio and video contents starting this collaboration with their affliated companies Genie Music and Millie.

Kim Jepng-wook, the general manager of Newbiz at Genie Music, said, "The environment where customers can listen to audio contents while doing other things in life have been implemented," adding, "We will lead the trend by expanding AI based audio contents."
