SEOUL, Oct. 6 (Yonhap) -- Namhae County in South Gyeongsang Province is rolling out a variety of festivals and cultural events as autumn deepens.

The county said Tuesday that it will hold the German Village Beer Festival from Thursday through Saturday in and around German Village in Samdong-myeon.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the distinctive autumn atmosphere of Namhae amid the village's exotic scenery, accompanied by the sounds of brass bands.

A variety of cultural events will also take place throughout Namhae during October in addition to the beer festival.

The "Coloring Sea" event was held around Namhae Bridge on Oct. 3, followed by a performance titled "Aenggang Night: Landscape of Sound" at the Aenggang Park observatory on Oct. 4, featuring singer Harim and other performers.

On Oct. 17, a used-book circulation market and a film screening will be held in an outdoor space at the Namhae Bridge Welcome Center, with more programs connecting performances and nature planned to follow.

The county said it plans to link the autumn festivals with its gardens and historical resources to develop Namhae into a destination for extended stays where visitors can stay, walk and experience the area, rather than making one-off visits.
