SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- Broadcaster MBC said Tuesday it has produced its first short-form series,  "Swamp That Eats People: Curse of Susalgwi."

The drama adapts “Salmokji,” the most popular episode of the horror talk show “Late Night Ghost Talk.” It was co-directed by the show’s producer Park Jong-eun and Kim Seung-tae, director of the film “Guimunbang.”

The short-form drama will first be released Sept. 10 in Japan via RIDI’s platform Kanta, before expanding globally.

Short-form dramas, typically one to two minutes per episode, have become popular among younger viewers accustomed to short video platforms such as TikTok.

MBC said it plans to expand into the short-form drama content market by producing works in diverse genres.
