SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- Lim Young-woong’s upcoming second studio album "IM HERO 2" will be released as a photo book instead of the traditional CD format, his agency Mulgogi Music announced Tuesday.
Set for release on August 29, the album will come in the form of an album book featuring photos and messages from the artist. It will not include a CD, meaning it won’t be counted in physical album sales charts.
The album’s tracks will be available for streaming on major music platforms.
Fish Music said the decision was made out of concern for environmental sustainability and the changing landscape of music consumption, where CDs are increasingly less used.
"This format is the result of long discussions and careful consideration with Lim Young-woong. Though the form may differ, we hope it brings fans even closer to the heart of the album," the agency said.
