SEOUL, June 4 (Yonhap) -- Singer-songwriter Naul has released a new R&B single titled '1993' on the 4th, as announced by his label Longplay Music.
'1993' is the third single from Naul's 'Soul Pop City' project, which showcases the soul and R&B styles of the 1970s to the 1990s that he loves. The song is a sophisticated urban R&B track blending soul, pop, and jazz with a distinctly 1990s vibe. It utilizes synth bass and the drum machine 'Original Roland TR-808' to evoke nostalgia for the 1990s.
Naul explained through his label, "As the title suggests, '1993' captures the mood of the early 1990s. It's a song that sounds great at sunset, but also fits perfectly in the late night or early morning hours." He added, "The 'Soul Pop City' project is a solo series where I experiment and have fun with different ideas. In '1993', I aimed to convey the vibe of the 1990s in a sincere and stylish way."
He expressed his hopes that the song would resonate with listeners of his generation, bringing back fond memories, while also introducing the unique charm and style of the 1990s to today's younger audience. Naul also mentioned that he has been planning his third full-length album for some time and intends to continue working on new tracks as they come together.
