SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Yonhap) -- The upcoming original series "D.P." is set to be released on the 27th on Netflix, the global OTT (over-the-top media service) platform.

Based on author Kim Bo-tong's webtoon with the same title, which is a term for a unit responsible for arresting deserters, deserter pursuit, features the leading characters’ story of facing the reality they had never experienced while chasing after people with various stories. Kim has also co-written the scripts with director Han Jun-hee.

"From the military barracks set, all the filming sets were so realistically designed that as I stepped in wearing uniforms, it felt all so real," said actor Jung Hae-in (33) who took the lead role of Private Ahn Joon-ho on an online conference Wednesday.

"I actually said my name while stating the character’s official ranks and name. I was so nervous that I made an NG saying, 'Private Jung Hae-in'," laughed Jung.

"D.P may not look like a soldier as they walk out of camp wearing normal clothes. Although it is not a familiar topic, the army is vaguely aware of its presence. Through the webtoon I came to know of it specifically and through filming I could know about it precisely," added the actor.

"I read the script like reading a comic imagining the page one by one. The characters were also quite enjoyable as they all carried their own uniqueness," said Jung.

"The start of the series depicts details of going into a new society, the army. There will be some points you can empathize with. As Joon-ho used to do boxing, I also practiced boxing hard 3 months prior the filming.?" s

About the fellow actors Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Sung-kyun and Son Suk-ku, Jung commented, "They felt like long-known and close friends. The filming set was always friendly and cheerful."

Koo Kyo-hwan (38) who became a rising star having appeared in various consecutive productions is to partner up with 정 as another leading role 상병 and leader of D.P Han Ho-yul.

"One of my colleagues used to work as a D.P so I interviewed him. I and Joon-ho are making a great one-two-punch pair. The actors and production crew have formed a firm bond as well,” said Koo.

The cast include Kim Sung-kyun for Sergeant Park Bum-gu responsible for D.P and Son Suk-ku for First lieutenant from Korea Military Academy. Well-known actors such as Cho Hyun-chul, Shin Seung-ho, Ko Kyung-pyo, Kim Dong-young and Lee Jun-young will take part in the episodes as well.

"Author Kim Bo-tong taught us many things as he used to be a legendary D.P. During the production process, there were people who once have been a D.P among our actors and managers, so we received detailed advice from them. We didn't notice much, but there are a lot around us," explained Han, the director of the upcoming series.

"Any young men in their early 20s have to join the military service. We produced the series featuring the young men's experiences thinking that it could contain social implications anyone can identify with," added the director.

The series is made up of 6 episodes and will be released at 4 p.m. on the 27th.
