SEOUL, Feb. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor Song Kang is set to begin his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier on April 2, announced his agency Namoo Actors on the 29th.

The agency stated that Song Kang plans to enter the training camp quietly, keeping the enlistment details private to prevent any safety issues related to congestion at the site. They also expressed gratitude for warm love and support from fans and asked for continuous encouragement as Song Kang fulfills his national duty.

Debuting in 2017 through the tvN drama 'The Liar and His Lover,' Song Kang gained international recognition through Netflix series like 'Love Alarm' and 'Sweet Home.'
