SEOUL, Oct. 27 (Yonhap) -- EXO will return to group activities following the members’ completion of military service, starting with a fan meeting at the end of the year, SM Entertainment said Monday.
According to the agency, the group will hold its fan meeting “EXO’verse” on Dec. 13-14 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, followed by the release of its eighth full-length album in the first quarter of next year.
It will mark EXO’s first group comeback in about two years since the release of its seventh studio album “Exist” in 2023.
Six members — Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay — will take part in the upcoming fan meeting and album promotions. Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, who are currently in a legal dispute with SM Entertainment over contract and payment issues, will not participate.
At the fan meeting, EXO will perform some of their hit songs, including “First Snow,” and unveil a new track from the upcoming album for the first time.
Since Xiumin and D.O. began their military service in 2019, the group had been on hiatus, with all members completing service as of September when Sehun was discharged.
