SEOUL, June 10 (Yonhap) -- The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency for Distribution and Marketing said Wednesday it will recruit 50 small and medium-sized beauty companies to participate in a pop-up store project in collaboration with Hyundai Department Store to help expand their sales channels.

The pop-up stores will be operated in partnership with BeCLEAN, Hyundai Department Store's beauty select shop, beginning at its Pangyo branch, which attracts heavy foot traffic, before expanding to other locations.

Eligible products include cosmetics, perfumes, body and hair care products, beauty devices and inner beauty health supplements.

Participating companies will be able to introduce their products directly to consumers and refine their products and marketing strategies based on customer feedback gathered on-site.

Companies that demonstrate strong sales performance will also be given opportunities to enter BeCLEAN's online and offline stores.

Applications will be accepted through 6 p.m. on June 26 via the Fanfandaero website.

Lee Tae-sik, chief executive officer of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency for Distribution and Marketing, said the pop-up stores are expected to provide valuable promotional opportunities for beauty SMEs seeking greater visibility, as they will be held in major commercial districts frequented by many consumers.

"We will continue to support outstanding K-beauty SMEs so that the sales experience and consumer feedback accumulated on-site can lead to their next stage of growth," Lee said.
