Eyes sway to RM's visit to Lee Kun-hee Collection at Jeonnam Museum of Art

SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Yonhap) -- Global band BTS’s leader RM (real name Kim Nam-joon) has visited Jeonnam Museum of Art where a special exhibition of Lee Kun-hee collection takes place.

A photo of RM in front of Jeonnam Museum of Art’s building has been uploaded on BTS’s official Twitter page on the 5th, according to the museum Friday.

RM, known to be an art lover, has been visiting art galleries around the country to see artworks of Kim Whan-kiYoo Young-kuk artists for himself. He is known to have recently visited the special exhibition of Lee Kun-hee collection at Jeonnma Museum of Art.

The art museum has been holding “Lee Kun-hee Collection Special Exhibition : Cherished Moments, Priceless Gifts” starting from September.

They have put 19 works out 21 donations on display. The display includes works of masters from South Jeolla Province such as Kim Whan-ki·Cheon Kyeong-ja·Oh Ji-ho and of representative artists of the Korean Modern and Contemporary Art.

Lee Kun-hee Collection Special Exhibition has recorded over 2,000 visitors during its first weekends and is endlessly receiving requests for group-visits from various organizations. The exhibition is open until Nov. 7.

“The exhibition already carries a special meaning with its name itself, Lee Kun-hee Collection, but thanks to RM’s visit, its value has become more significant,” said Lee Ji-ho the head director of Jeonnam Museum of Art.

The museum put a limit on maximum entry according to the COVID-19 guidelines and is disinfecting the facility every day.
The exhibition is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the entrance fee is 1,000 won but residents of the South Jeolla Province can receive a 50% discount.
