ULSAN, May 15 (Yonhap) -- The 2026 Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival, now in its 18th year, will be held from May 20-25 at the rose garden of Ulsan Grand Park, organizers said Friday.

The Ulsan metropolitan government and SK Innovation said they are preparing garden culture content befitting the city’s status in connection with the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo.

Visitors will be able to enjoy 3 million roses of 265 varieties at the 56,174-square-meter rose garden.

An opening ceremony marking the start of the festival will take place at 8 p.m. on May 20 at the rose garden’s main stage.

The opening event will feature a parade, an illumination ceremony, a performance involving a giant “Rose Snowball” installation, fireworks, a laser show and celebratory performances.

From May 21-24, the festival will present a variety of stage performances, including the “Rose Valley Concert” featuring top South Korean singers, the “Love Music Concert” by local artists, magic shows and street performances.

Festival organizers have also prepared a range of facilities and attractions, including the large “Rose Square Dome” shelter designed to help visitors escape the heat, exhibition and hands-on experience zones, food trucks, an eco-tourism hall and a children’s theme park.

The Rose Square Dome, installed at SK Plaza, will combine relaxation and cultural experiences through media facade displays and performance programs.

A rose garden photo zone, which began operating May 12, will remain open through May 31. Nighttime admission to the garden will also be available from May 15-31.

For visitors’ convenience, organizers will provide a “Rose Map Service” accessible via QR code, offering venue maps and updates on rose blooming conditions, along with free shuttle buses circulating around Ulsan Grand Park.
