SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- Actor Lee Min-ki has been assessed additional taxes following a tax audit related to the operation of his one-person corporation, his agency said Wednesday.

 

His agency, Sangyoung ENT, said in a statement that it respected the findings of the National Tax Service and had promptly paid the imposed amount in accordance with relevant procedures.

 

The agency, however, did not disclose details regarding the audit process or the amount of the additional taxes imposed.

 

The agency explained that Lee had faithfully fulfilled his tax obligations in compliance with tax laws since his debut and that there had been no intentional omission of income or unlawful tax evasion.

 

"The results of this tax audit stemmed from differences in interpretation between the tax authorities and our company regarding standards for expense processing during the operation of the corporation," Sangyoung ENT said.

 

"During the recent audit process, we transparently submitted relevant materials and fully cooperated with the investigation," it added.
