SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- K-pop juggernaut BTS' performance of summer hit "Butter" on the World Cup Bridge, which is preparing to be opened, was broadcast on the popular American talk show "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Following the K-pop act's performance of newly released song "Permission to Dance" the previous day, BTS appeared on two consecutive episodes.

The background for BTS' evening performance of "Butter," is known to be the World Cup Bridge, which connects the Mapo District and Yeongdeungpo District. The World Cup Bridge, which began construction in 2010, will open next month after being under construction for about 11 years.

The seven-piece act performed "Butter" in a lively and free spirit by using all the space on the empty bridge.

The band's seven members appeared sitting on a purple sofa, a symbolic color of BTS, and later walking leisurely around the bridge while singing. During the chorus, all members performed a powerful yet flexible group choreography.

In the middle of the video, there was a full shot of both the magnificent World Cup Bridge and the Han River. The colorful LED lights and the night view of the city caught the eye.

Last September, BTS also appeared on the Jimmy Fallon Show and performed "IDOL" and "Mikrokosmos" at Gyeongbokgung Palace, a main royal palace located in Seoul. At the time, BTS' performances became a hot topic as it promoted Korea's distinct beauty worldwide.

BTS' previous performance of "Permission to Dance," which features choreography that incorporates international sign language, was well received by the talk show.

Billboard praised that BTS's performance of "Permission to Dance" on the Jimmy Fallon Show showcased the best choreography.

Earlier on, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a director-general of the World Health Organization, went on his Twitter account to thank BTS for using sign language to help deaf people continue to enjoy music and bring joy to their lives.
