SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Yonhap) -- The Seoul metropolitan government said Wednesday it will begin accepting registrations on Aug. 6 for the inaugural "Beautiful Life in Seoul" (BLS) festival, which will be held from Aug. 22-25.
The festival will bring together beauty, fashion and design as a single tourism experience, featuring 14 programs at 12 venues in and around the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
The centerpiece of the event, "Seoul Beauty Week," will showcase the latest products and services in K-beauty, medical aesthetics and wellness.
Other themed programs include "Seoul to Style Yourself," "Moving Seoul," "Relaxing Seoul," "Discovering Your Taste in Seoul" and "Enjoying Seoul After Dark."
Advance registration will be available for major experiential programs, including the Seoul Beauty Week exhibition, the Seoul Beauty Forum, a special athleisure lecture, DDP London Fit, Healing in DDP and the DDP Design Book Fair book talks.
Details on schedules, participation methods and reservation capacity for each program are available on the festival's official website.
Visitors can also enjoy outdoor hip-hop performances at "Summer Seoul Con," fashion and food markets, and exhibitions at the DDP Book Fair without advance reservations.
Cho Hye-jung, director-general for Creative Industries Planning at the Seoul city government, said, "Seoul's appeal has expanded beyond sightseeing to experiencing the daily lives and tastes of its citizens."
"Through 'Beautiful Life in Seoul,' we hope both residents and domestic and international visitors will experience Seoul's unique beauty, fashion, wellness, culture and leisure, and enjoy a special day that can only be found in Seoul," she said.
