SEOUL, July 30 (Yonhap) -- Shin Gwang-il, a member of Korean band Lucy, will enlist in the military on September 2, according to an announcement made by his agency Mystic Story on the 30th.

 

Shin will join the Army Band after completing his basic training. The agency stated, "To prevent any safety incidents, there will be no official events on the day of his enlistment. Shin Gwang-il will continue to meet fans through various activities, including concerts, until his enlistment."

 

After Shin's enlistment on September 2, Lucy will operate as a three-member band with a session drummer filling in for Shin during performances.

 

Shin Gwang-il serves as both the vocalist and drummer for Lucy, which gained recognition as the runner-up on JTBC's band competition program 'Super Band' in 2019.

 

Lucy released their single 'Immortal Knight and Silk Cradle' in March and plans to hold encore concerts in Seoul and Tokyo next month as part of their world tour.
