SEOUL, Mar. 16 (Yonhap) -- The 16th Jeongnong-ro King Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from Mar. 24 to 27 along Jeju Island’s Jeongnong-ro Cherry Blossom Road under the slogan of “Spring Day at Jeongnong-ro full of love and cherry blossoms.”

Hosted and organized by the Samdo 1-dong Festival Promotion Committee and sponsored by Samdo 1-dong Community Center, the Festival will return after four-year-long hiatus due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The organizers are planning to showcase diverse performances and participatory programs along Cherry Blossom Road at Jeju Samdo 1-dong in order to present local residents and tourists with pleasant spring memories.

The Festival will kick off with a performance by Pungmulpae, a Korean folk music troupe that includes drumming, dancing, and singing, as well as the walking event on Cherry Blossom Road.

The second day will be pumped up with performances by JungAng Elementary School students and B-boy groups, as well as preliminary rounds of the King Cherry Blossom Singing Contest. The Lotus dance troupe and the final rounds of the Singing Contest are scheduled to be held on the last day.
