SEOUL, Feb. 3 (Yonhap) - Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE, who discovered the mega-hit boy group BTS, attended the "Billboard Power 100" award ceremony and won the "Clive Davis Visionary Award," a special award.

According to HYBE on Friday, Chairman Bang was invited to the awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on Thursday (local time).

The awards ceremony is a place to celebrate and commemorate the listing of the "2023 Billboard Power List 100," one of the most influential figures in the global music industry. Among them, those who have performed the best will receive a special award.

The Clive Davis Visionary Award is given to those who have contributed to the growth and innovation of the music industry. It was named after five-time Grammy Award winner Clive Davis.

"My journey to expand the boundaries of the music and entertainment industry without being complacent in the life of a producer comes only from my efforts to be with my beloved music," Bang said. "I will try to expand the boundaries and horizons of the music industry based on my love for music like Clive Davis, the first winner of the award."

Chairman Bang, along with Scooter Brown, CEO of HYBE America, tied for 18th on the '2023 Billboard Power List 100'. Chairman Bang was previously selected on the list in 2020 and last year.

Billboard introduced, "HYBE, which established HYBE America, a U.S. subsidiary based on the acquisition of Ithaca Holdings in 2021, is strengthening its presence in the world's largest music market and diversifying its business capabilities."
