SEOUL, Apr. 8 (Yonhap) -- Seoul Historiography Institute announced on the 8th that it is holding a "Seoul History and Culture Expedition" with the citizens.
The Seoul Historiography Institute held a tour of the history and cultural expedition in order to find traces of the lives and history of the people in Seoul every year. Up till last year, the exploration of Bukhansan, Dobongsan, parts of Oseosan, Han Gang (Han River), Inwangsan, Baegaksan Mountain, Naksan, Namsan and more were completed and included for the book "Seoul Yeoksa Dabsagi" which translates to "Seoul History Replier."
This year, under the theme of "Walking the streets of Seoul following a scene from history," an expedition is planned in order to get to know people of various classes who used to live in Hanyang.
Following the footsteps of the Kings, former officials, state councils of Joseon and many more, the daily life of the old officials will be recollected. Additionally, by looking back at Unjong-ga, Sijang-gil, Sunla-gil, a place where patrol was taken place for the safety of Doseong, and Pimat-gil, the back alley will also traced.
This year's expedition starts next month on the 26th in Sijang-gil. It is then continued from this month till next month, and September to November, once a month with a total of 6 sessions.
The number of participants will be increased to 30-50 people as the social distancing guidelines have become more flexible. The participants are selected by drawings each time, and any adult who is able to walk for about 4 hours can apply.
